MITEM's Healthcare Informatics Expert to Present at the Medical Users
Software Exchange International Conference

Session titled: “Developing Enhanced User Interfaces and Workflow Processes to Improve Patient Care and Physician Practice”

Menlo Park, Calif., - April 15, 2003 - MITEM Corporation, a provider of integration solutions for healthcare, will have its Director of Healthcare Informatics, Albert S. Chan, MD, presenting during this years' Medical Users Software Exchange (MUSE) International Conference. Dr. Chan will discuss how enhanced user interface design and improved workflow processes in electronic medical record systems can improve clinical and financial outcomes for health care organizations.

Dr. Chan is a consultant and advisory board member to MITEM Corporation where he works closely with the engineering and product marketing teams on all aspects of Blue Iris, the Company's software solution that integrates, enhances and extends hospital information systems. He is also a post-doctoral fellow at the Stanford University Program in Biomedical Informatics and serves on the American Medical Informatics Association Clinical Information Systems Working Group.

MITEM has tapped Dr. Chan's clinical experience to develop an application that is truly clinician friendly. The first release of Blue Iris has been created for physicians. Its graphical user interface (GUI) design is based on the SOAP progress note, the format that all physicians are trained to use when evaluating and documenting a patient's condition and treatment. Blue Iris has been designed with the help of medical professionals like Dr. Chan to address some of the most pressing issues facing healthcare organizations including: improving clinician efficiency, automating manual processes, reducing the potential for medical errors, and providing secure, Web-based access to patient records.
